Student Life Returns to 272 Clinton Ave: Gallery House Fellowship Program, Fall Semester 2015, is now underway
DGT Foundation's Gallery House Fellowship Program began this past October 5, as two Pratt Institute undergraduate students were accepted as Fall 2015 Fellows. The students are participating in a semester-long program where they will learn and practice skills related to curating and exhibiting works in the creative fields taught at Pratt Institute. Participants will gain real-life experience in curating, planning, promoting, setting up and managing an exhibit of creative works.

Participants will gain real-life experience in curating, planning, promoting, setting up and managing an exhibit of creative works. The project will include the production of an exhibit that will benefit a local charity selected by the students, and Fellows will each receive academic credit or a monetary grant of $2,250 at the completion of their semester project. At the end of the semester, participants in the Gallery House Fellowship Program may be invited and selected by DGT to participate in continuing the Program, coordinating and supporting efforts with subsequent Fellows, and be honorifically inducted as DGT Members. Jon Levy, the Program Coordinator, described the students as prepared, eager, evidently motivated, and just plain 'gung-ho,' based on his observation of their participation in the first session of the program.
Alumni Day 2015
An open house involving a late morning brunch and a mid-afternoon happy hour served as a homecoming for DGT Alumni on September 19th, 2015. Members attending this year included alumni who were undergraduates during the late 1950s, and during the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s.
DGT Alumni Association plans for Pratt Alumni Day and Reunion 2015
The Board of DGT Alumni Association is preparing to welcome alumni back home to 272 Clinton Ave. on Pratt Alumni Day and Reunion, September 19, 2015. In addition to participating in a full program of Pratt Institute organized events on campus, DGT Alumni will be able to join fellow members and their families for Brunch at the House, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, and again for Happy Hour, from 2:00 pm to4:00 pm. Brunch and Happy Hour are on the House. There will be a short informal, town hall style program at both events, to share current information about the organization and its plans for the future, as well as answer questions. This year, Pratt Institute and DGT Alumni Association are extending a special invitation and welcome to alumni who graduated in years ending in 0 and 5. There will be reunions for alumni who graduated in 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, and 2010. To register for Pratt Alumni Day and Reunion (not necessary for attending events at the House) go to www.pratt.edu/alumniday
DGT Alumni Association funds Gallery House for fall 2015 and commits additional resources to refurbish the first floor of 272 Clinton Ave.
Gallery House, a semester-long fellowship program in which Pratt Institute students may receive academic credit towards their degree, or a cash stipend, received sufficient funding to support at least three such fellowships this coming fall semester. At its quarterly membership meeting, held Saturday, July 25, 2015 DGT Alumni Association also committed up to $20,000 in resources to re-furbish the first floor of 272 Clinton Ave., to make the Chapter Room, other spaces on that level, and the patio ready for Gallery House and fall semester events, including a late morning brunch and a mid-afternoon happy hour on September 19, 2015, Pratt Alumni Day and Reunion. The funding of Gallery House is made possible by a $7,500 gift to the DGT Foundation in 2015 from DGT Alumni Association, Inc. This is in addition to an initial gift of $1,500 given in late 2014 when DGT Foundation received its IRS letter of determination as a 501 (c)(3), tax exempt organization. These resources have been supplemented by additional, generous gifts from DGT alumni to the DGT Foundation through the DGT Engraved Brick Campaign just getting underway.
Help build the DGT Alumni Association's membership and historical documentation data base
In pursuit of its mission and with the help of a new data base program, DGT Alumni Association now maintains a data-base to enable communication activities that support fellowship, professional development, and networking among members, family and friends, and to thus keep alive the spirit of those familiar phrases with the words beginning with the letters IGTB and TDF. The data base already had 200+ names and has actively engaged individuals living around the world who were undergraduate members of Delta Gamma Theta or Tau Delta Phi – Tau Sigma, going as far back as 1955. It takes just 15-20 minutes to provide or update your information, including entering the names of your pledge brothers (or sisters) if your Pledge Book is easily at hand. UPDATE YOUR INFORMATION
Mortgage modification executed on May 2, 2015
This is great news for the DGT Alumni Association! A favorable loan agreement was executed on May 2, 2015 resolving a pesky problem that came about in early 2011 when Roundpoint, the mortgage service company at the time, erroneously declared that our alumni association was in default of the mortgage loan agreement. Roundpoint began returning payments at the time. A new lender purchased the loan from Roundpoint in March, 2015 and a new mortgage service company moved quickly to resolve the matter. DGT Alumni Association’s monthly mortgage payments are roughly the same, under $1,700, and about $1,100 lower than what DGT Alumni Association’s budgeted per month. The new fixed interest rate is 5.5%, which is good for a commercial loan involving an SRO, and much lower than the nearly 12% that was in place under the original loan.
