About Gallery House
Gallery House is a unique, private gallery space that is used to host fine art and design exhibits curated by interns receiving their college and graduate level education at Pratt Institute. The exhibits are also designed as fundraisers for nonprofit organizations selected by the interns. The private gallery space is located within a brownstone dating back to 1877 and located in historic Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, NY. The gallery space, located on the main floor, is being restored as a gracious nineteenth century space for hosting exhibits and as a memorable reunion location for generations of Pratt Alumni who once lived there between 1964 and 2006, when it served as a fraternity house.
Gallery House is a program of DGT Foundation, Inc., the tax-exempt arm of DGT Alumni Association, made up of Pratt Institute Alumni who were once part of a local fraternity dating back to 1898. As a legacy from the past, DGT Alumni Association members, and income from the property, support an organization that has now been re-purposed as Gallery House to continue to enrich student life and professional preparation in an Innovative way that supports the fostering of leadership and professional development among students in the creative fields of study provided by Pratt. Gallery House is dedicated to the sharing of ideas pressing our world today by giving back to the local community through our hosted receptions. We aim to gather and communicate said ideas through art, music and other types of artistic expression.
